1. Who We Are

ClarifiCover (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates clarificover.com — an AI-powered document interpretation tool that helps users understand the structure and language of insurance policy documents. We are not a licensed insurance broker, advisor, or regulated financial services provider.

2. Scope and Applicable Law

This Privacy Policy is drafted in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (“PDPL”) and its implementing regulations. It applies to all users who access or use ClarifiCover regardless of their country of residence.

3. What Data We Process

3.1 Uploaded Documents

When you upload a PDF document, it is temporarily held in memory solely for the purpose of text extraction and analysis. The file buffer is deleted from our servers immediately after text extraction is complete — typically within seconds of upload. We do not write the file to disk, store it in a database, or transmit it to third parties other than as described in Section 5.

Important: Insurance policy documents may contain personal or sensitive information (including health-related information). By uploading a document, you confirm you are authorised to process the information it contains and consent to its temporary processing as described in this policy.

3.2 Analysis Results

The structured output generated from your document (interpretation results, identified figures, clause summaries) is held in a temporary server-side session for up to 30 minutes to allow you to view your results. Sessions are automatically purged after this period. We do not link results to your identity.

3.3 Usage and Technical Data

We may collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages accessed. This data is used for security monitoring and service reliability. It is not used for profiling or marketing.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data on the basis of:

• Contractual necessity — processing your uploaded document is required to deliver the service you requested.
• Legitimate interests — maintaining service security and reliability.
• Consent — for any processing of sensitive personal data that may be incidentally contained in your uploaded document.

5. Third-Party Processing

To generate the document interpretation, extracted text from your document is transmitted to Anthropic PBC (the provider of the Claude AI model) via their API. Anthropic processes this text to generate structured analysis output. Anthropic's API is subject to their data usage policies; API inputs are not used to train Anthropic's models by default under their API terms.

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your data with any other third party for commercial purposes.

6. Data Retention

• Uploaded file: Deleted immediately after text extraction (within seconds).
• Analysis results: Held in session memory for up to 30 minutes, then automatically purged.
• Server logs: Retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.

We do not create user accounts and do not maintain a persistent record of your documents or analysis results.

7. Your Rights Under the PDPL

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• Be informed about how your personal data is processed (this policy).
• Request access to personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
• Request deletion of your personal data, to the extent technically feasible given our minimal retention periods.
• Withdraw consent at any time (noting that withdrawal does not affect processing already completed).

Given our architecture — no user accounts, no persistent storage beyond 30-minute sessions — most data subject requests will be technically moot. However, you may contact us at the address below and we will respond within the legally required timeframe.

8. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data during transmission and processing. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. File buffers are held only in server memory and are never written to persistent storage.

9. Children

This service is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly process personal data of minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be indicated by an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
